An essential preparation for students looking to access a British university, this is a bridge to Undergraduate /Postgraduate degrees.

To access a university in the UK, a good English communication level must be demonstrated, with an ability to participate in seminars, to write essays and to submit assignments or research papers.

Our Access to University delivers a clear route to successful undergraduate or postgraduate entry, achieving the English levels required for different degree disciplines: Arts & Humanities, Social Sciences, Business, Natural Sciences.

A full attendance on the course will achieve:

  • a good IELTS fluency score
  • a proficiency in the study skills required for full participation at University,
  • oral presentation of topics,
  • an ability to write a variety of academic genre essays
  • autonomous, self-disciplined learning with time management skills

Course summary:

Concorde International

Term 1: September – December 2023

Entry level IELTS 3.5; TOEFL 343 – 407 CEFR B1

Intensive English language development – 25hrs per week + tutorials

 

Term 2: January – March 2024

Entry level IELTS 4.5; TOEFL 447 – 483; CEFR B1+

Intensive academic study skills, academic writing, presentation skills– 25hrs per week + tutorials

 

Term 3: April – June 2024

Entry level IELTS 5.5; TOEFL 533 -570; CEFR B2

Intensive IELTS exam preparation, research methods, independent guided project work – 25hrs per week + tutorials

Also included: Individual counselling and assistance in selecting a university, Open Days in preparation for university life in Britain.

By the end of this Access course, a good English communication level will be achieved, with an ability to participate in seminars, to write essays and to submit assignments or research papers.

This course is a must if you intend to study in a British university.
