Recruitment Procedure
Please bear with us during this busy time as we receive many applications at once and it might take us up to ten working days to process all the forms.
Once we receive your application we will contact you to confirm receipt and inform you if we would like to arrange an interview. Preferences are given to those who clearly meet the Minimum Essential Requirements and Desirable Requirements stated in the Person Specifications and Job Descriptions.
Interviews are either held at our Head Office in Canterbury or over the telephone if you live too far away. Interviews generally last between 30 to 45 minutes. Management interviews will all be held at Head Office with the Director and Assistant Director of Vacation Courses.
If your application and interview are successful we will need you to provide us with some more information before your employment commences. All the forms you send us can be typed and emailed and we will accept an electronic signature if sent from your email address to ours. We will send you the following forms as soon as possible afterwards:
- Official Offer Letter - this clearly identifies the position, location and dates of your employment. You will need to read this letter carefully, sign it and return it to us. You should keep a copy for yourself.
- Personnel Form - this form asks for your bank details, National Insurance Number and will be passed to the accountant so you get paid correctly. Your details will be kept very securely at Head Office and will not be distributed to anyone outside of Concorde International.
- British Council CV Form -The British Council prefer all academic staff to complete this CV form so that they can look at academic qualifications quickly during their inspections. Activity staff do not need to complete this form.
- Staff Information Booklet - This includes information for all staff coming to work at Concorde International Summer Schools. It includes information on how and when we pay you, tax forms, dress codes, accommodation, working hours and conditions and other frequently asked questions. Please make sure you read this carefully.
- Tax Form - This will depend on your circumstances and more information can be found in the Staff Information Booklet. Forms will be sent to you after 6th April.
We will now send off for your references if we haven’t done so already. Once these are returned and your Offer Letter has been signed and returned we will send you your Contract of Employment. - Contract of Employment - You will need to sign this contract and send us a signed copy. You should keep a copy for yourself. A copy will also be available for you to access in the cen-tre. This document informs you of your rights as an employee. It also details disciplinary and complaints procedures.
A few weeks before your employment commences we will send you an Induction Pack and some more information about how to get to the centre, who to meet and what to bring with you. It will also tell you what time the induction starts.
At the induction we will provide you with a Staff Handbook. You will receive details on health and safety, fire safety and general day to day information. You will also receive a copy of the rota for the first week.
If at any time during this process you would like some further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
