Concorde Work Experience Students Are Flying High

UK Work Experience & Language SkillsConcorde International has always had a top reputation when it comes to finding work placements for the students that come to us seeking real world experience in English to back up their intensive language courses. Our joint language development and work placement programme is perfect for those who need to get some experience under their belt as well as get their English language skills certified.

We aren’t a work placement agency – the internships and work experience we offer are tied in very closely to our core service as an English language teaching school, so we never accept students who are only looking for employment and aren’t interested in developing their language skills. There’s an absolute minimum of four weeks of intensive language development studying to bring students up to IELTS level 5.0 (or equivalent) before their placement, and we include focus classes on interview techniques, business language and the “technical terms” likely to be encountered by professionals in particular fields to ensure our students are as fully prepared as any native English speaking applicant.

We even help you to find a placement that fits your skills and interests and will assist with arranging interviews, preparing your CV for applications and practising your interview technique for your particular industry sector. Your placement can last up to ten months and some of our students even go on to receive extended internships or even permanent job offers from their employers – although we can’t guarantee this for everyone of course!

You don’t need to worry about being hurriedly shuffled into a local business near our Canterbury study centre for your placement either. All our work experience programme students come back to us with messages about their experience of a lifetime – like Soojin from Korea, who recently went to work at the British Museum, or Wei-Wei from China who spent several months working at the National Gallery in London. We can even help students with unusual interests or academic experience who have been turned away from other language schools – like one student who studied Piscine Science and ended up visiting Billingsgate Fish Market and then attending a conference in Brussels for his dissertation afterwards!

No matter what your academic background, personal interests or existing areas of expertise, Concorde International’s combination of intensive English language studies and supervised work experience can help you to grow your confidence and kick start your career.
