Concorde Looks Forward to Royal Wedding Celebrations in Kent

Home to Concorde International, the South-Eastern county of Kent is a popular UK holiday destination that is full of history and charm. It is a diverse county with beautiful countryside, villages and coastlines that typify the best of what Britain has to offer. Kent is known as the ‘Garden of England’ because of its abundance of fruit and hop farms.

It is a county proud of its heritage, so it was no surprise that Kent looked likely to be hosting one of the largest numbers of street parties to celebrate the Royal Wedding on the 29th of April 2011. Figures (released in mid March) showed that Kent had already planned 54 street parties whilst second placed Cambridge had planned 32.

With a total of 168 street parties now scheduled across the county of Kent, it will be a great place to celebrate the wedding of the year. The high numbers of parties shows the community spirit that exists here. So what better place to celebrate this special day? Everyone will have the chance to get involved in the community and enjoy this historic event.

It is easy to feel patriotic when surrounded by the rolling Kent countryside or exploring one of its many historic towns and villages. Kent is also home to the famous city of Canterbury, with its world-renowned cathedral and medieval streets. This city is extremely popular with tourists as it is a short hop across the channel from mainland Europe.

Canterbury is therefore an ideal place for visitors to come and learn or improve their English. This is one of the reasons why Concorde International has run their world famous language school in Canterbury for nearly 40 years. It is a great destination for students to learn whilst enjoying their surroundings.

Students who are currently studying on one of Concorde Internationals courses can be part of the Royal wedding atmosphere and join a street party in the Canterbury area, with a total of 13 to choose from. There are also 6 parties planned in nearby Ashford, 12 in Dover and 22 in Maidstone.

So we are sure that the people of Kent will celebrate William and Kate’s special day by getting out and joining in the fun. It will truly be a day of celebration here, around the UK and across the world. Our international visitors at Concorde International will also have the chance to be involved in this uniquely British day.
