A group of Concorde students recently enjoyed a trip to Covent Garden to see the London sights.
Once London’s bustling fruit market, it was built in the 19th century and has some beautiful architecture to enjoy.
Covent Garden is also a great place for shopping, eating and entertainment. It always has a great atmosphere and is popular with visitors from abroad.
There is a tradition of street performance at Covent Garden and you can often see magicians, singers and acrobats do their shows on the street in front of enthusiastic audiences.
There is a great range of shops at this tourist hot spot, including chain stores and more individual shops, as well as a number of craft and gift stalls selling handmade items.
Covent Garden also has a great choice of restaurants, bars and cafes in which people can relax and socialise; whilst enjoying some great food and drink.
The Concorde International students really enjoyed their trip to Covent Garden and enjoyed all it has to offer including plenty of shopping, sitting in cafes and watching some street theatre.
A trip like this really helps our foreign students to practise their English and enjoy the best of British culture in the UK’s capital city.
London, host to the 2012 Olympic Games, is easily accessible from Canterbury - where Concorde International is based. It takes less than two hours to get there by coach or train, this means that we can regularly take our students on cultural trips to enjoy London.
There really is no better place to see the best of what London has to offer than Covent Garden. To see images of the Concorde students enjoying their day out view our picture gallery.
