Concorde International is well known for its high-quality English language summer courses. These are not only available at our language school headquarters in Canterbury, but also in the historic and beautiful city of Cambridge.
Famed for its world standard university, Cambridge has been a seat of academic learning for hundreds of years. What better place to come and learn English or improve your language skills! The Cambridge English Summer Courses run this year during the period of 10 July - 21 August.
You will really be in the heart of history as our range of English summer courses and study accommodation are partly based in Homerton and St Chad’s, two of the Cambridge colleges. We also use the facilities of centrally located St Marys School.
You can be assured of an intensive and quality programme of teaching on Concorde International's summer courses. However, this does not mean that there is no time for fun and sightseeing during your stay. Cambridge is a city with so much to offer the visitor, especially during the summer months.
There is the beautiful river Cam, where you can experience a famous ‘punt’ boat ride. There are the many interesting Cambridge University colleges that have been home to some of the world’s most famous scholars; including William Wordsworth, Stephen Hawking and Canterbury’s own Christopher Marlowe to name just a few.
Some of these university college buildings are historic and spectacular in themselves, such as the famous King’s College Chapel where you can listen to Evensong. There are also some beautiful parks and commons in the centre of the city, where you can play sports and relax in the summer weather.
You will be taking a recognised programme of English language study during your stay in Cambridge. There are the general English Summer Courses and more intensive programmes available. There is also a course to prepare you for taking the First Certificate in English. Accommodation and meals will be provided for you, in either the university residence or with a homestay family.
Cambridge is fairly compact and is also very flat city, so you are only ever a short walk or bicycle ride from where you are studying and the famous sights. We are confident you will enjoy both your programme of study and your time exploring. The local tourist information centre can give you a list of the must-see sites to visit during your stay.
