Students Enjoy Junior Summer Schools
26/03/2012
Concorde International have received some great feedback from the Junior English Language Summer Schools.
Held across multiple locations in the UK including Canterbury, Rochester, Cambridge, Hampstead and Worcester; Concorde International has been organising summer vacation courses for juniors for over 39 years.
Concorde are experienced in planning learning and activity programmes for a range of students from a wide variety of countries and cultures. We make sure that our students overcome their English language barrier and also have fun on their trip.
Some non-academic activities this year included a carnival evening, regular disco nights, trips to the seaside and afternoon tea. In our headquarters location of Canterbury there was even a river tour through the historic city centre.
The Director of Studies said that it had been a hot summer and it was a good thing that Whitstable seaside was close by – students had regular excursions to the sea to enjoy cream teas and cool off!
One pupil, Christina from China, stayed with us for 10 weeks and totally involved her in all activities/excursions and class work. As a result her English has improved phenomenally and she has made the most friends across the summer weeks – from 27 different countries!
The courses are for young people aged 12-18 years old. The class numbers are small and each student is given individual support to improve their English. The students can either stay in student rooms near their study centre or with selected host families. We ensure each student feels comfortable and at home in their chosen accommodation.
We received some great comments from students about their time here. Alina from Latvia said, “I like the school very much. The teachers and activity leaders are the best!”. Nachanok from Thailand said, “My host is very nice and always take of me all the time. I love my host family very much, they feed me great meals and spend a lot of time with me.”
At the peak of the junior summer schools there were over fifty multinational Concorde staff and in excess of 20 group leaders from different countries, they all enjoyed the experience and asking about next year’s programme!
Maria from Portugal summed up the positive feedback when she said, “I’m really loving this experience, the Concorde International Summer School is amazing so I hope next year I come back again.”
