The King's School, Rochester

Within easy reach of central London, just 25 miles away, Rochester has always been an important commercial, maritime centre and long associated with the novelist Charles Dickens. Dating from 1066, there is a famous Norman Castle, Cathedral and Guildhall in the city centre. Rochester has an attractive pedestrianised city centre with interesting, individual shops all within 5 minutes walk of the school. A cup of coffee will cost about £1.80, a pint of beer about £2.80. The train station is very close which allows easy access around Kent and in to London if you want to travel on your days off.

The school is spread out over a large campus with the Paddock sports field at its centre. School House and the hall are just outside the main campus, three minutes walk from the main office. Many of the school buildings are listed and have historic connections with the Middle Ages. There are also new buildings such as those housing the classrooms, the hall, dining hall and the swimming pool. University of Creative Arts (UCA) accommodation is off campus and about 15 minutes walk from the King’s School. There are magnificent views of the cathedral and castle from the main campus which is only three minutes walk.
