Essential preparation for university.

The Concorde International Access University Course is NOT a standard English course. As well as general language improvement, we understand that students going on to higher education also need academic and research skills.

The aim of our Access University Course is to ensure that students are fully prepared, both linguistically and psychologically, for entry onto an Undergraduate or Masters programme in Britain and that they are therefore in a position to obtain maximum benefit from their studies. The courses have been divided into two main areas of study: Academic Skills Development and Language Development (including, but not limited to, IELTS preparation).

Who is this for Students wishing to enter British university
Start Dates September, January, April, July, Presessional.
Duration 1, 2 or 3 Terms (One Term = 12 Weeks)
Class Size Generally 8-10 students, maximum 12 students
Hours/Week 25 hours per week
Entry Requirements Access Undergraduate - Certificate of completion of high school education in the country of origin.

Access Masters - Successful completion of a first degree in the subject of study or a related subject at a recognised university in the country of origin.

 

IELTS (International English Language Testing System)

  • September, Term 1: 3.5 - 4.0 (TOEFL 345 - 450: pre-intermediate/lower intermediate)
  • January, Term 2: 4.5 - 5.0 (TOEFL 475 - 500; CBTOEFL 150 - 173) - (good intermediate)
  • April, Term 3: 5.5 - 6.0 (TOEFL 520-540; CBTOEFL 190-207)(upper-intermediate)

Access Undergraduate

A sound foundation, this course provides the right preparation for students wishing to enter a degree programme in the Arts, Humanities, or Sciences. The focus is on building the academics and linguistic skills necessary to succeed at your British university of choice.

Access Masters

This course allows students to develop the skills necessary to succeed at postgraduate level. It develops the academic study methods that are vital in preparation for masters programmes in the UK. Students benefit from all the features of the Access Programme with particular emphasis being placed on independent research, academic writing and guided project work. In addition to an intensive IELTS course, Access Masters students will get the opportunity to do dissertation work on their chosen field of study in the 3rd term.
