The School
The King's school is located in a quiet area within a few minutes walk of the town centre.
Part of the school is located opposite Restoration House, which takes its name from the stay of King Charles II in the eve of the Restoration in 1658. It is also the house Dickens describes as the home of Miss Haversham in his novel, Great Expectations.
Many of the school buildings are listed and have historic connections with the Middle Ages. There are also new buildings such as those housing the classrooms, the hall and the swimming pool.
Sport facilities:
There is large playing field for football, volleyball and rounders. For those students who like water, there is a modern indoor swimming pool. There are also two halls suitable for sports as well as tennis courts available.
